Poems for Peace

Poems from Around the World

Featured Poem

I'm Here For You

If ever you are in pain
you can always call my name

If ever your heart runs out of time
just ask and I'll give you mine

If ever you choose to send me away
I'll leave in body but in spirit I'll stay

If ever the word love loses meaning to you
there is only one thing I'll do
I'll still love you

By: Marco Jimenez, 12th Grade, Barstow High School, Barstow, U.S.A.

About us

Poems for Peace is a poetry exchange between youth worldwide. Cross-cultural connections are established through the sharing of ideas, hopes, fears and dreams, weaving a strong and colorful tapestry of peace.

Mission

Provide an opportunity for people to discover similarities, embrace differences, develop compassion and foster forgiveness.

Transcend racial, religious, socio-economic, physical and intellectual prejudice and unite on a deeper and more meaningful level.

Inspire curiosity about different cultures, lifestyles and modes of thinking. Ignorance breeds prejudice, apathy and fear; knowledge breeds compassion. When we know, we care.

Poetry Defined

We define poetry as any written expression that conveys a heartfelt truth. It may be a traditional poem, a story, prayer or work of art with commentary.

Theme of the Month

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE is September 21!

Submit a peace poem to our website:

What does it take to make peace?
Once lost, how is it reestablished?
